Xiaomi Prepares to Unveil HyperOS 4: A Complete System Overhaul

Xiaomi is gearing up for the next iteration of its HyperOS ecosystem. According to new leaks originating from China, the company is planning to officially introduce HyperOS 4 next month. The upcoming version is expected to bring significant advancements across the board, ranging from fundamental system architecture to sophisticated AI-driven features.

A Major Shift in Performance

According to leaked details, HyperOS 4 is being built using the Rust programming language and the Flutter framework for its core components. Furthermore, legacy code inherited from the MIUI era is reportedly being completely removed. This transition aims to create a leaner, highly optimized software foundation.

Early test results suggest impressive performance gains:

  1. System Fluidity: Up to 40% increase in smoothness.
  2. Background Management: Up to 35% improvement in background app retention.
  3. RAM Optimization: Idle RAM usage is expected to drop by 25–30%.
  4. Longevity: Performance degradation after one year of usage is projected to be limited to just 5%.

New Design Language and AI Capabilities

HyperOS 4 will reportedly debut Xiaomi’s new "Liquid Glass" design philosophy. The interface is expected to feature smoother transition effects and a 2.5D aesthetic, offering two distinct theme options: Transparent and Soft.

On the AI front, the update is rumored to integrate Xiaomi’s on-device Mimo model and the Miclaw AI assistant. These additions will enable users to perform complex tasks—such as document summarization, multilingual translation, and AI-powered photo editing—entirely offline, without the need for an internet connection.

Enhanced cross-device integration is also a priority. The ecosystem will see improvements in connectivity between smartphones, tablets, automobiles, and smart home devices, including:

  1. Up to 3x faster file transfer speeds among supported devices.
  2. More seamless application continuity across different screen sizes.

Availability and Launch Timeline

Current reports suggest that HyperOS 4 will be unveiled next month, likely alongside the Xiaomi 18 series or the company’s latest foldable device. Following the initial launch, the update is expected to roll out gradually to compatible models, led by the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 15, and Redmi K90 series.

Stay tuned to GSMLeaks for more updates on the HyperOS 4 rollout and official announcements from Xiaomi.
